Provenance: The Artist's Studio



In 1933 the poet and curator John Hewitt commissioned a landscape painting from Luke, which became his first work in tempera and also used a more abstracted and schematic arrangement of forms familiar from the Ulster landscape, which was increasingly to become typical of Luke.
